Commerce to launch new electrical engineering program this fall

A new bachelor of science in electrical engineering degree program will prepare future engineers to apply scientific and mathematical principles to the planning, design, and evaluation of electrical and electronic systems and their components. The new degree plan is the third engineering program offered at A&M-Commerce, joining bachelor degrees in Construction Engineering and Industrial Engineering. Both programs are accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology, Inc.

Areas of curriculum focus in the new electrical engineering degree program include circuits, electronics, digital systems, electrical networks, electromagnetism, embedded control, programming, signal analysis and electrical systems.

Efforts are now underway in the College of Science and Engineering to create new instructional labs, establish a program advisory group and develop new curriculum. Students interested in joining the inaugural class of future electrical engineers at A&M Commerce are encouraged to apply for admission via the Apply Texas online application.
